Look What I Made

So, I've been busy with sooo many projects, Etsy-related & not-so-much-Etsy-related.  And, the weather has been fabulous this week, which has necessitated much park play...

I have managed to created some new pieces...  Here's a sneak peek:

The Big Reveal

I finally finished my cover-the-not-so-attractive-big-empty-wall art project that I told you about here.

It's finally time for The Big Reveal (with much thanks to the magic that is the Command Picture Hanger)...

Tada:

Isn't that so much better? And, no giant ugly white triple switchplate staring back at you.

One more time.

Before:

After:

Pay no attention to the ever-changing pillows...they are subject to the whims of 2 boys & move about the room with frequency.

A fun & easy DIY project...glad I did this!

A Fun (&Cheap!) Wall Art Project

So, I've been wanting to add some art to this big blank wall in our living room & cover the less-than-stellar paint touch-ups & the giant-sized switchplate...

Originally, I had planned to make some more canvasses like these that I made for the hallway:

But, then I remembered that I had these cool typewriter key graphic decals, that I found at Marshall's last summer for cheap ($12 I think).

So, rather than adhere the decals to my walls, I opted to go with canvas so I could cover up that ginormous light/fireplace switch (I can just quickly take down & return the pic to use the switch, in case you were wondering).

So, I got myself 9 (nine!) 12 x 12 canvasses during a sale at Hobby Lobby, got out my trusty oil rubbed bronze spray paint, which can be seen on so many objects in our home, and I got to work, finding various boxes & lifts on which to spray paint. My youngest, Sam, had to make sure that the Bomb Pop box was indeed empty before I began... Forgot to snap a pic of the aftermath in total, but here's the aftermath with just 2 canvasses left to move. I sprayed the sides of each canvas, as well as bout 2 inches around the entire front of each canvas.

Then the canvasses looked like this:

Here's a sneak peek at how one turned out:

I dig it!

A pic of all nine, hung on the wall, is coming as soon as I get some more velcro picture hangers... Stay tuned.
